A pupil using finger witches Les Staves is an independent consultant in the teaching and learning of maths for pupils with severe or complex learning difficulties.

These pages are for those involved or working with children with Severe or Profound Learning Difficulties, including sensory difficulties, autism, or unusual behaviours in either special schools and colleges or Inclusive and Early Years settings.

Les has written special maths needs materials and provided training for the National Numeracy Strategy, the QCA and EQUALS.    His book:

New Material:
In addition to his well established courses Les now offers training and workshops on The Primary Numeracy Framework. This includes an insight into interpreting the Framework to offer access to pupils working at early levels.

Les can also provide a training day about 'Making sense of P scales for teaching' Which is fully commensurate with the QCAs revised guidance in 2009.
